Bridgewater defeats Clover Hill to force game seven of the RCBL Championship Series

The Bridgewater Reds forced a seventh and deciding game of the Rockingham County Baseball League Championship series as they beat Clover Hill on Thursday, 6-1, in game six at Ray Heatwole Field. The series is now tied 3-3.

Chris Huffman threw a complete game as he allowed one unearned run and just six hits. He struck out 12 and walked just one batter.

Grey Sherfey drove in three runs for the Reds, while Huffman, Mason Mantz, Will Knicely and Terry Staton had two hits each.

Bridgewater started the scoring with two runs in the second inning, and it stayed that way until the fifth when Clover Hill was able to get an unearned run. The Reds then put the game away with two runs each in the sixth and seventh innings.

Isaac Sumpter drove in the only run for the Bucks.

Game seven of the championship series will take place on Saturday night at Buck Bowman Park as the first pitch is set for 7:45 p.m. Last season, Clover Hill won at Bridgewater in game seven to win the RCBL Championship.
