JMU Football adds home-and-home series with UNLV and Ohio

HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison Athletics announced the completion of contracts for home-and-home football series with UNLV, which will be played in 2027 and 2030, and Ohio, which is set for 2028 and 2035.

It will be the inaugural two meetings for JMU against both programs.

JMU’s series with UNLV begins on Sept. 25, 2027 with a home game at Bridgeforth Stadium before flying to Las Vegas three seasons later on Aug. 31, 2030. The road game at UNLV will be the furthest west JMU football has ever traveled based on current contracts. The Dukes previously played at Weber State in 2021 and Utah State in 2023.

The Dukes open the series with Ohio on Sept. 16, 2028, with a road matchup in Athens, Ohio. The return trip to Harrisonburg takes place on Sept. 15, 2035.

Additionally, JMU has signed agreements to host FCS programs Houston Christian on Sept. 9, 2028, and Central Connecticut on Sept. 1, 2029.

With the addition of these six games, JMU has completed non-conference schedules through 2029.
